Enugu SME Center

Who We Are

Enugu State made history in April 2005 when it became the first of the 36 States in Nigeria to establish a center for entrepreneurship and enterprise development focusing on micro, small and medium enterprises. The Enugu SME Center (hereafter referred as the center) was established in collaboration with Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and DFID. The Center is the only vehicle Enugu State has to facilitate the promotion and development of a structured productive SME sector that will significantly contribute to its aspiration to be one of the four most industrialized states in Nigeria and the economic hub of the South East Zone.

At Enugu SME Center, we envision a dynamic, industrialized and prosperous state in which entrepreneurship and the pursuit of economic freedom through private enterprise is the dominant lifestyle. We are committed to building a thriving economy led by inspired, and a growing market stimulated and sustained by local production and zonal economic development.

To unleash the potential of the private sector and entrepreneurship in Enugu State by transforming the culture of business ownership and enterprise development using micro, small and medium enterprises.
